A Status Update on Mother

Oh my goodness I haven't written a darn thing in over a month!  I knew I had been busy but I did not realize that I had been absent for that long!  Wow how the time does fly when you are having fun!  And I have been having sooo much fun these past few weeks.  I have mentioned before how much I love dyeing fabric, well I have taken the step beyond yardage and started dyeing clothing!  Oh my gawd I am having a grand time!  Along with dyeing the clothing I have started adding screen printing and other embellishments to produce some really beautiful and unique items that I am hoping I can sell rather quickly so that I can buy more blanks and do a lot more!  I have already dyed over 80 t-shirts in a rainbow of vibrant colors and have done some screen printing on maybe a dozen and a half or so.

Today I spent part of the afternoon cleaning up my studio so that I could get to my dress dummy, which was of course buried in a back corner behind piles and piles of boxes, so I now have a model to wear the shirts so I can take pictures to show you all just how incredibly lovely this process really is.  It is different from tie dyeing and produces a much different effect that I just find really fascinating.  I tried a few other processes besides my usual low water immersion (LWI) method, but while they were great fun to do, the results were not as spectacular so I probably won't do those again any time soon.

I have also been working on another project for my husband that has been taking up a lot of the time I would normally have spent writing, but mostly I have just been obsessing with my newest hobby - which is what I do best after all.  If you read back through my posts you will see I have warned you repeatedly that I am nothing if unreliable about getting things posted on here.  I haven't even typed in any recipes in weeks.  I am a professional slacker.  I admit it.  I just got lucky that I found a man willing to put up with it and provide for my every want, need and desire, or I would still be miserable trying to pretend I wasn't lazy, selfish, and spoiled rotten.  And that was no fun at all!
